My Current paintings have been an exploration in Gouache. I once hated this paint, so I challenged myself to a year of only using Gouache or ink as a painting medium. The limitation developed a respect and love for Gouache and archival processes to paint with Gouache on a water-based ground adhered to wood panel. Allowing me to build into the ground as a sculptural element and connecting the familiarity of working with lithographic limestone that enables the artist to scratch away layers of stone in the same way I have become able to scratch away layers of ground to create new elements to my work.
